    Guillem Balague on SS1

Guillem Ballague on Sky Sports 1 programme 'Revista De La Liga' being asked about Eto'o and Messi.

He said Eto'o is due to start training on Monday and will be playing within two weeks.

Messi out till February and Liverpool matches, especially the first leg, may be too early for him.

Looking forward to these games even more now after tonights disaster and going out the FA too. Maybe we can do the unthinkable (to non-LFC supporters) again!

Is Guillem Balague 'as good' as he's made out to be? Does he know more than the other journo's? I like him, and like to listen to what he has to say.

I'm just about to start reading his book 'Season on the Brink'. I've been told it's very good, I'm looking forward to it.

I think Messi and Eto'o will play, not that it makes a great deal of difference in my mind.
If we turn up, we'll give them a game, whoever they play.
If we don't turn up, like so many occasions this season, we'll get butt****ed.

      Agree with that.

Obviously we need to be on top of our game but I think we can get through this tie. People, mostly other team supporters, wind me up when they think we've got no chance. Of course we've got a chance!

      Can't wait now.

It's exactly the type of tie we'd win. If we were going to Lille or something like that, we'd probably balls it up by thinking too hard.
When we win in Europe, we seem to be just "playing football". When we try and be too clever and think about the game too much we inhibit ourselves, go into our shells and make mistakes.
The emphasis should be on "natural game" for me.
As for GB's book, I enjoyed it, a very interesting read. I sometimes think he is over-hyped by some Liverpool fans, I'm sure he gets an impression of Rafa's thoughts but I'm equally as sure he doesn't get passed information verbatim.

I hope they have their strongist team available, so they don't have any excuses after we thump em

I think we have got a great chance.

If Barcelona underestimate us, we could really surprise them. Despite the last 2 games, we are a good cup side and I think over two legs we are a good a team as anyone if we play to our stengths.

The players have no excuses. They must be fired up for these games.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!
