    Spurs 2 - Newcy 3

    Good game, good goals.

Is there a better league for goals this season, I doubt it.

I think the hondurian(sp?) league is quite good.
But it was a great goal by Martins.

      The Honduran league?!?!?!

This has been a RIGHT game, with some great goals. What a bloody strike that was from Obafemi Martins. That lad swings from the sublime to the ridiculous so erratically he makes Cisse look the model of assured consistency.

You don`t follow the hondurian league
Ghaly has to be one of the most ineffective players ever, he had some glaring misses against us as well.

Do you mean the quality of them or just the number?

Because there was an article in the paper over Christmas which said we had the lowest goals per game ratio on the continent! Might have picked up since then though.

Sounded like it was a good game, listened to it on the radio.

Do people still think that Roeder is a terrible manager. I defended him at the start of the season and I think he has proved me right. Considering the injuries he has had to deal with I think he has done exceptionally well.

I'm a big critic of Roeder - I think he's a deeply uninspiring wet lettuce of a man - but I've got to give him due credit. He's doing a good job at the minute, given the injury situation. They've also had about 6 or 7 Academy lads in the 16 and they've all done exceptionally well.

Lots of credit to our former target Solano too - he's been outstanding in that emergency right-back role.

                  I agree.

Martins have done much better than I thought he would do. A very good signing.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I agree with you that he comes across very poorly on TV when interviewed. He does however seem to have the respect of his players and is clearly an excellent coach. I think that he must be a very different man off camera to have handled the dressing room at Newcastle so well.

Solano has been excellent. At the start of his emergency right back career people bringing up the quote from Marradona that he would be the best right back in the world before he came over here. I have to admit that I thought he would get found out when playing with 3 under 20's but it hasn't happened.

Martins' strike today was a great goal, but are the BBC not over-egging it just a touch...?

First, Martins scored a goal that will live long in the memory. He played a one-two and ran at Michael Dawson on the left edge of the box, suddenly letting fly with the most outrageous left-foot thunderbolt that absolutely screamed into the top corner.

Just the quality, you remember the great goals rather than how many was scored, and for me this year has to be one of the best for sheer quality.

the standard of goals has been pretty good this season pity all you hear about is how much the ball moves though

Really? I think Ghaly is a very good player who created a great chance for Berbatov when he came on late in the game. The Spurs fans love him...

No idea how Spurs lost that game. Newcastle had 3 attacks and scored 3 whereas Spurs squandered about 5 gilt edged chances. Very unlucky today.
