Sam urges Blues to up Tal bid

Sam Allardyce has urged Chelsea to come in with a renewed offer for his Bolton Wanderers defender Tal Ben Haim.
The Blues' bid to land Ben Haim appeared to hit a brick wall on Wednesday after The Trotters rejected an offer, reported to be in the region of £2million.
Jose Mourinho has so far refused to up his valuation of a player who has just six months remaining on his Bolton contract.
But Allardyce believes Mourinho could rue not pursuing a deal, with the Bolton boss of the opinion that the Israeli would shore up a recently susceptible Blues defence.
"He is a top player," insisted Allardyce.
"He will be a lot better when he goes to Chelsea than Jose thinks.
"But that won't happen until they match our terms.
"They could wait until the summer and get him on a free but it all depends on how much they need him.
"He is a good buy for them because he can play in the Champions League and FA Cup as well as the Premiership."
