Thanjk you.

To be fair if he was the player to keep either team up (which I think he is capable of doing) then he would be worth all of the £18m.
I really rate him, but I'm glad we are not involved in this bidding war. For that money we would need a forward who has been proven at least at European level.

marcus bent 18m million lol must be darren! far too high a price i think west ham have gone crazy he is not worth 18m. we will stuff them 2nt 4 being such ****s!
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.
west ham are throwing money around at the moment arnt they. 18 million!! he's not worth half.
1,5 on quashie
3 on davenport
1,5 on neill
say 6 on boa morte
plus the 8 mil bid turned down for upson, 2,5 bid for hreidarsson turned down and now this 18 mil bid.
panic buys.

Not to mention the ludicrous wages they're offering on top of the transfer fees. If it's true that Curbishley just bid 18 million quid for Bent then he's an absolute disaster. Can you imagine what he would've done with our cash if he took over after GH left? We'd probably be mid table right now, and broke.
I have a feeling Curbishley and egg head could be a disastrous combination for the Hammers. They're going down.
Firstly, let's be clear - this is about DARREN Bent not MARCUS Bent.
Secondly, Curbishley has worked with him before, and obviously really rates the guy.
The price is ludicrous, but West Ham are desperate to stay up.
The stakes are even higher than in previous years when it comes to staying in the top division due to the increase
in money on the table. It'd be a massive gamble, but the Hammers board think it's worth it. It's probably also in their thinking that should they buy Darren Bent, one of the relegation places is even more likely to go to Charlton, making their job of staying up that little bit easier....
The problem for them is that they must pay big wages if they want anyone to join them. No good players would join a club fighting to avoid relegation if they didn't get good wages doing it.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
I think the bigger problem is that they need to change the whole feeling around the squad. At the start of the season they seemed arrogant and like last season was enough to justify their entire careers. Now they have a squad full of young players with low confidence. Finding inspirational players at any time is hard enough, ones willing to take a gamble on a side who might be relegated even harder. I guess if they see someone they think fits the bill they just have to take the gamble (or be cute with contracts and clauses).
