How was David Villa last night?

I went out for a run rather than waste my time watching England so I only saw about 15 mins of the game. How was Mr Villa last night?

Saw the first half in 'patches' and he was a real handful. Good movement, good strength and technique on the ball. He could be an asset to any club in the premier league based on this showing.

But my analysis can be flawed ... The sandman was banging at the door.

Why does it matter? More chance of me playing for the reds.

Played well and gave Ferdinand and Woodgate the slip ore than a few times. Set up the goal for Iniesta.

he was really good, can come deep and hold it up. Played a few through balls, has pace, can cross and made woodgate and rio work hard.

very impressed. I always though torres was the better one, maybe i was wrong here.

looked very dangerous first touch very good and was rarely dispossesed when under pressure. completley done woodgate when setting up the goal i was really impressed and was surprised that he is quite strong he really looked a class above anyone out there last nite (as did xavi) brilliant technical ability and also very direct. all in all **** hot!

xavi from barcelona has been one of the best central midfielders in europe for a few years now.

Was unlucky with injuries last season, but this guy is a top, top player.

Never mentioned when it comes to awards etc... but he keeps fabregas, alonso etc.. out of the spain team most of the time.

                He is that good.

                    Agree.
                    He is class.
                    Always has been.
Fabregas is a schoolboy compared to him.

I think Villa was doing okay last night. He had no troubles with keeping the ball, he confortably ran through the defence (Neville sisters ) and it looked like he provides himself with a little space to shoot everytime he wants. To me, he was one of the best on the pitch last night.

However, I still can't understand how Morientes missed that sitter

To be fair, Alonso, Xavi & Fabregas all normally start the important games.

And Villa was the best player on the pitch, I though.
