    Beckham/Real Madrid

A fairytale return to the side for Beckham, as he scores the equaliser.

What's the betting that fool McClaren will now follow suit and restore him to the squad in a desperate attempt at saving his job?

I have to say Beckham's grown on me during all this. He kept his counsel and his dignity, and now he's slammed a huge portion of humble pie right in Cappello's face.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I am one of the (seemingly small band) that think David Beckham is still a hugely talented footballer.

I reckon he's got the capacity to play at the highest level.

Whether that be at Madrid, or back in the Premiership...

    He's only 31, for ****s sake!

for all the celebrity circus bollox he's a good professional and always has been. he's effectively retiring when he moves to the states though.

If the tabloids demand it then I agree that McLaren will probably put him back in.

I would agree with others on this thread that he could come back to the prem and do a job, although clearly not the player he was, he's still a good one IMO.

That said, his England days are well behind him.

Beckham is too smart to voice his opinions in public though.

Beckham is still a very good player. He is nice to the fans. He works his ass off. And he may not be the smartest guy in the world, but he's made a lot of money, has done amazingly well in marketing, is by all accounts an excellent father, and is/was very well liked and respected by the other players on the England team. I can't see too much to be ashamed of.

Yes he does. Didn't mean to leave that part out, so thanks for reminding us. I know he's done a lot to be a media pig, but I just don't understand all the bashing he gets. His ethics for the game are as good as and better than a great many. He really doesn't deserve all the **** he gets. He trains and plays his guts out. And how many footballers can brag about how smart they are?
