That's good mate. You been doing that for a while?Originally posted by cobain View Post

Yeah, I've been doing this for a while now. At first my previews and reviews were a bit bad but I think they're getting better each week (or hope so, to say the leastOriginally posted by jonesie23 View PostThat's good mate. You been doing that for a while?

). For me, it's just important that it's about footie and that I don't make too many spelling or grammar mistakes (well, I'm Slovenian and sometimes English grammar isn't me best friend
hehe)

Will do. It's only a four week trial at first and then if I'm any good they'll hopefully keep me on.Originally posted by cobain View PostYeah, I've been doing this for a while now. It's not about matches like yours but more column-type stuff. Some of the articles on there are really good. Pressure!
Well done on the magic four figures.

can you imagine the delay that will bring, imagine every little foul on the pitch has to be whistled on. and why should they do it in the first place, the foul is on you but why should i have to suffer. you foul me stop my attack, i get the ball back but have to wait so you can defend better.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostThey should have to whistle for EVERY decision, they have to whistle to award a free kick, same should apply to re-starting the game."I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. OK, so I'll repeat my question. Why not have the same rule for penalties then?Originally posted by Diego View Postcan you imagine the delay that will bring, imagine every little foul on the pitch has to be whistled on. and why should they do it in the first place, the foul is on you but why should i have to suffer. you foul me stop my attack, i get the ball back but have to wait so you can defend better.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

cause penalties have a different set of rules around them, if a penalty is given it cause a foul was made inside a big square, and and the kick must be taken at a specific place with in that box. what you are asking is why isn't it allowed for a player to rush the ball to the spot and take the kick, it's ridiculous idea and very far from being similar to a free kick. in a penalty a player is robbed of a clear goalscoring opportunity and is given another to compensate, but in a free kick they are just given the ball back, where they were fouled, and if they want to take the kick right away then why shouldn't they, and if they want to wait for the ref to restore order and put the wall back etc.. they can cause it's their free kick..."I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. I don't see why there should be a distinction between a penalty and a free kick. I think the game should be stopped with a whistle and re-started with a whistle at all times. How long does it take to blow a whistle for ****s sake?Originally posted by Diego View Postcause penalties have a different set of rules around them, if a penalty is given it cause a foul was made inside a big square, and and the kick must be taken at a specific place with in that box. what you are asking is why isn't it allowed for a player to rush the ball to the spot and take the kick, it's ridiculous idea and very far from being similar to a free kick. in a penalty a player is robbed of a clear goalscoring opportunity and is given another to compensate, but in a free kick they are just given the ball back, where they were fouled, and if they want to take the kick right away then why shouldn't they, and if they want to wait for the ref to restore order and put the wall back etc.. they can cause it's their free kick...Originally posted by Gordon Brown

i get your point, but if you penalize me and i have a better chance to create something bu taking my chance right away, then why should you have the right to stop me doing so, you fouled me why should you gain anything, thats why refs give advantage anyway, for me it's a similar thing..."I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. Giving advantage is fine, no problem with that.
But I believe, if the ref stops the game with his whistle, he should restart it in the same way. I'm not bothered if it's Man Utd or us benefitting from it, it just seems remarkably stupid to me that they can decide when the game restarts.
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the ref to do it in this way, then there is no confusion and no discrepancies. It prevents ridiculous protests like the one tonight.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

i agree with you that things should be clearer and there should be more constancy from the refs, i mean some allow this whilst others don't. same things should apply to everyone on football. but i guess we disagree on how it should be done..."I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. Just watched the full match...
- Freekick rules are a mess and need sorting to avoid ****e like this happening again and again and again. Man Utd didn't deserve to score just because of a breakdown in communication and uncertainty over the rules, that's not football, it's a ****ing farce. When the ref decides not to play advantage and blows for a free kick he has stopped the game. It should only be restarted when the whistle is blown.
- Lille's goal was fine. Vidic felt that someone had farted in his direction so dived.
- As much as Lille could rightly feel aggrieved after everything that had just happened, especially having had the better of the game, it was a ****ing joke for them to think it might be a good idea to walk off the pitch. **** happens get over it. If every team walked off the pitch when ref decisions didn't go their way it would be a right mess. Not to mention it meant when the game was continued the referree would've been under immense pressure not to go against them if a big decision came up. Even worse it contributed to the hostile atmosphere amongst the fans. The **** who waved them off should be sacked.
-Lastly, it is a complete disgrace that even now authorities could allow a situation where anything even close to a crush could happen. Too many fans put into one section and all behind a massive metal fence, police react by assuming it's hooliganism. Do things ever change?Like blood on iron
