Sevilla ace Alves welcomes Barcelona interest.

Sevilla ace Alves welcomes Barcelona interest

Sevilla fullback Daniel Alves admits he has ambitions of playing for Barcelona.

The Brazilian recently penned a new deal with Sevilla, but told DiarioSport: "I can never stop. I must keep improving so I can eventually play for a great team like Barcelona.

"I have played with great players who have never achieved at bigger clubs what they did previously. I am determined not to fall into that category.

"When the chance comes, I must be ready to make the most of it."

Daniel Alves added: "It means something special that Barcelona are interested in me. It makes me feel privileged."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I see Barcelona are really short of right-sided defenders and midfielders...

Belletti, Oleguer, Thuram, Messi, Iniesta, Giuly...

They are playing against them on Saturday and that is probably why he is linked with them.

It just shows that he is prepared to leave and that his new one year longer contract doesn't mean that he will stay.

99.9% of players playing outside the top clubs, i.e. the regular Champions League qualifiers around Europe, ultimately want a move to one of these 'elite' clubs.

So Alves talikng up a move to Barca is no surprise really - keeping his options open.

I doubt if a sevilla player would say mid-season that he wants to play for another la liga team. He's been misquoted or taken out of context or something. Tribal Football is evil.

Tribal football again. Do you really think he would say these things before playing barca at the weekend - not exactly ingratiating himself with his fans is he.

Therefore rooney should be quoted as saying he wants to play for Liverpool

Personally I think we've missed the boat on Alves. What I've seen of the lad makes me think he would improve our right hand side immeasurably, but if you dont strike while the iron is hot you miss out. Delaying it just allows his club to generate more interest from other clubs and drive the price higher.

Alves will know the interest is there from us tho, and has been for a while, i'd have thought he'd be happier coming to a team who've been trailing him for a couple of years.
