I would suggest Voronin is a pre-amble to another signing, anyone know who he is mates with footballing wise?

I think Tevez would be too expensive for us in the long term, but I would love him to join us, however, I think our current 3 strikers are great and only needs an Eto'o type player to link with any of them.

actually i think they are not good enough, now eto'o and tevez thats a partnership, tevez creates loads, crouch can be on the bench as he offers us something different, bells is easily replaceable a poor mans owen, and tevez works as hard a kuyt...

Tevez's celebration was ****ing brilliant, and I for one thoroughly enjoyed.

I'm impressed with him. I don't think we'll ever sign him, or even try to, but I do like him. He was fantastic today - an effervescent bundle of energy, desire and positivity. He was well entitled to enjoy his goal in the way he did.

It's easy to see why the Hammers love him.

I was talking about today's performance and today's performance only.

I'd never dream of judging him on his stop-start career at West Ham, just like I wouldn't have done Mascherano.

It's clear he's a very good player - inconistent maybe, dubious mentality perhaps - but he's a good player. Easily the best attacking player on the park today.

He's had a long run in the West Ham team and seems to take all freekicks in and around that area. Like I say, that's his first goal all season.

He may well be a good player, but Nando was a good player too. The problem is he's not a premiership player.

I've always liked them - good club, good fans - but they've brought this on themselves IMO. A combination of a set of 'big time Charlies' on the playing staff, and diabolical management/decision-making at the top. They should never have sacked Pardew for a start.

Curbishley has also bought abysmally. Nigel Quashie FFS. The 'Red Adair' for all relegation-threatened clubs. Except he's not a very good 'Red Adair' - every club he's played for has been relegated. The worst-kept secret in the Premiership is that Davenport is the worst centre-back in the league (with Christian Dailly not far behind) yet Curbishley bought him. Along with Neill on laughable wages, Upson (who is ****ing ****e IMO) and Kepa Blanco, it's a pretty appalling set of new signings.

That´s harsh! Upson hasn´t even completed more than 15 minutes in the same game yet

Oh, by the way there was an interview with Eggert on Icelandic TV before the game, he thinks there won´t be any point deductions and he was talking about West Ham moving to a new 60.000 stadium around 2011.

I know where you're coming from. A good mate of mine is a Leeds fan and, while I felt sorry for him and felt he didn't deserve it, I still had no sympathy for the club itself.

What a goal!!

The lad is having a great for West Ham. He really is making them tick. I'd love to see him follow his mate up to Anfield but I doubt that it'll happen. He's every bit as good as Rooney IMHO.

Carlos Tevez grabbed his third goal in three games in a man-of-the-match display as the Hammers inched nearer safety with a comfortable victory.

The Argentine once again proved the hosts' shining light and he helped get them off to a great start, setting up Bobby Zamora to lash in on two minutes.

Tevez then made it two with a fine goal after a ricochet off Andrew Taylor.

Yakubu headed Boro's best chance wide late on but it would have been scant consolation after a toothless display.

With games against Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United to come, this was a must-win match for the Hammers and they got off to a dream start.

Zamora, in from the start after coming off the bench to fire a controversial winner against Blackburn last week, latched on to Tevez's deflected cross six yards out and thumped home the opener after just two minutes.

Unlike at Ewood Park a fortnight ago, there was no doubt it crossed the line, and it could have been two for the hosts moments later had Jonathan Woodgate not halted Tevez's mazy run.

As so often has been the case this season, Tevez was carrying the Hammers forward almost single-handedly, and Middlesbrough were unable to deal with the Argentine's work-rate and skill.

In fact, such was the hosts' early dominance, that Boro had to wait until the half-hour mark to trouble Robert Green in the West Ham goal, George Boateng's curler easily saved by the home keeper.

The visitors' resurgence did not last long, though, and West Ham ended the half just as they had begun it.

After Zamora's cross-shot had been palmed away by Schwarzer, McCartney curled in a cross from the left wing that bounced off Taylor and fell to Tevez, who fired into the roof of the net from six yards.

It was no more than the hosts deserved, and the relief around Upton Park was palpable.

Boro boss Gareth Southgate responded to his side's first-half ineptitude by sending the team out for the second half a full five minutes before the Hammers emerged.

It did not have the desired effect, however, and instead the visitors were lucky not to concede a penalty when substitute Adam Johnson clearly handled Tevez's cross before the hour.

Middlesbrough were ragged and, with their confidence clearly growing, West Ham were happy to play a patient approach game.

And the Hammers, who had only kept four clean sheets in the league before the game, were also keeping their wits about them at the back, James Collins producing a fine stop to deny Yakubu with the striker set in the box in a rare Boro attack.

The Nigerian should have done better from Johnson's cross minutes later, though, heading wide unmarked from eight yards.

Luis Boa Morte came on for the Hammers late on and had a fine chance to wrap up the win with his first goal for the club, but his low drive was kept out by Schwarzer.

It mattered little, though, as the Hammers condemned Boro to a fourth league defeat on the trot to move within five points of safety.
