Along with dumping CL "losers" into the UEFA Cup, how can losing be rewarded like that?Originally posted by doogle View PostI think when the champions league let other than champions in obviously making that stronger but the UEFA cup weaker

Martins is quicker than Bellamy, he times his runs better and works as hard as Bellamy for the team.
Newcastle will get a problem when Owen gets back. I don't think Martins and Owen would be a good partnership. They will need a stronger player to help one of them upfront.
One of them will leave IMO.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think they will need to play 14-16 games to win it.Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostIndeed. I think adding the group stage was a complete waste of time and makes it quite farcical. How many matches do you have to play to win the ****ing thing?Just believe and you never know what will happen.

What I mean is a strong target player.
We have Kuyt or Crouch, Arsenal/Adebayor, Man U/Rooney, Chelsea/Drogba, Tottenham/Berbatov......Just believe and you never know what will happen.

i guess martins is still stronger thab all those except drogba, and I am sure he can act as target man as long as you play it into feet or spaceOriginally posted by AFII View PostWhat I mean is a strong target player.

Haha, just read that Martins missed yet another one-on-one late in the game. Surprise surprise. He's never converted a one-on-one in his life - my cats have got more composure than he has.
He's alright blasting 'em in instinctively from 12 yards out, but give him a one-on-one and he misses every time. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I'm sure it was a far better cup when we won it. Look who we knocked out, Olympiakos Roma, Porto and BarcaOriginally posted by Dhavlos View PostWhen did the UEFA Cup become such a mickey mouse competition? Heaven forbid but if we did ever play in it again I would want us to just blood the youngsters and not bother playing any first teamers at all.
