Konstantinou might get most of the goals and attention, but Okkas is the national team's talisman - sorely missed against Slovakia.

I was at the Cyprus-Germany game in November and I can tell you the guy ran the show, head and shoulders the best player on the pitch - much better than Ballack.

Am reasonably happy mate, given we've gotten two tonkings off Slovakia, a 1-0 defeat away from home against arguably the strongest side in the group is not too bad. Our first choice keeper and striker were out, so it wasn't a full strength side either. We did well to hold out.

Aside from the two tonkings we've received from SLovakia, we have done well and made decent progress. The 5-2 over Ireland was the turning point, but for me the home draw with Germany was the highlight. Apart from a 20 minute period half-way through the first half after we went a goal down, we were the better side, had a decent goal ruled out for offside and should really have won. Shame, as we were so close to the biggest win in our history.

All the more remarkable because despite how patriotic we are, the national team usually comes second behind club football in Cyprus.
