Leeds are falling into obscurity. Healy will not be playing for Leeds next season, that much is clear.

      He's better than Vorinonionon.

He was by far the best England player on Saturday and offered two gilt edged chances to both Lampard and Johnson. You know he's England's best player but he plays within a system which doesn't suit him.

Yeah, he’ll be playing for Port Vale or Brentford. Given that he can’t get in a team who’ve lost about 30 games this season and are anchored in 24th place in the league, it’s fair to say the only way is down.

Laughable as it is there are bids of 4m mooted. But i reckon once they realise that its Leeds he'll get a 400k transfer.

I'll take your money and suggest at 4/1 that he'll end up at a bigger club than the aforementioned next season.

Possibly, but it'll be another Championship club. Not good enough for the Prem.

Anyway this thread is about Rooney and how ****ing overrated he is. It might make Speedy cry, but I'm sure we can all live with that.

over rated is probably the wrong word. I think he is the most inconsistent player in the world. He is either world class or pub class never an inbetween. bobody can question the lads talent. On the face of it he looks like he has a good scoring record for Scum but most of them have come as 2/3 goals at a time

Nah, I think he's overrated. It's only cos he's English. What's he ever done to deserve all this hype?

Not scored a single goal in the Champions League since his debut in 2004.

Not scored a competitve goal for England since 2004.

Never scored in a major final.

Only ever won the Carling Cup.

Never scored 20 goals in a season.

But he's scored a few lovely chips - so he's world class.

                  Yeah right.

yes finally people are starting to realize rooney is another press creation, i remember when he was touted as the english maradona

he's only going to get fatter and slower as well, he's so inconsistent it's ridiculous

i was at the croatia game in 2004 when he scored 2 and lampshade scored one, how times have changed since then

What a great statement. He will only improve.

I think this thread could come to haunt a few people, he's 21.

As for England the coaching staff and Manager have it ALL wrong. Gerrard should be in the middle an lampard out of the side, i think everyone can see that.

In fairness he'll win the league this season and he's only made it to 2 major finals, so it's not too surprising he's yet to score .

One thing I am surprised with is the CL stat, that's very telling....

He will win the league this season, yes, but Rooney had a part to play in them not reaching many finals since he signed.

Yeah, remember his CL debut against Fenerbahce when he scored a hat-trick? We all thought "oh ****"? Well he hasn't scored since then.

I don't think anyone in this thread is saying he's ****. He's talented and is clearly one of the better players in the Prem.

But "the new Pele" and all that other ****e? Give me a ****ing break.

He's just another example of the Sky/media hyperbole of English players.

They, and most English fans are so desperate for players to be world class - to the point where they'll distort fact to augment the pathetic, fatuous statement that the Premiership is "the best league in the world" - that as soon as promising youngster arrives on the scene he's given far too much underserved praise too soon.

The reality is that Rooney is a good player who on his day can be an excellent one, he just doesn't have as many excellent days as people would like to think.

I still wonder what he did at Everton to make Demento think he was worth £25m.

While the hype is clearly ridiculous I do genuinely think he is a truly exceptional talent. One of the best creative/link forwards in the world. He has had a relatively quiet season but it is notable that nearly all of the England squad have.

Rooney is a class player and imo is world class. Yes he is overhyped by the english media but then again most young british players are. Personally i would swap him for our 3 main strikers!

I think he has the potential to be an all time great of the game but he is young and still learning the game, only time will tell. Lets see where he is in 3-4 years before start comparing him to Pele or Maradona!
