I think this thread could come to haunt a few people, he's 21.

As for England the coaching staff and Manager have it ALL wrong. Gerrard should be in the middle an lampard out of the side, i think everyone can see that.
he's 21 in the body of a 40 year old man, his temperment is questionable, i think your taking it for granted he will fulfill his potential

What do you mean? I seriously doubt you know what it's really like to have a 40 year old body.

I think Rooney is a very good player and has the potential to be one of the best in the world. He's plateaued this season but I suspect he'll be a better player for it. He's also doing OK for Man United even though his England performances have been poor.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

no but with each passing day i'm getting closer myself

he's one of those lads that developed early, they tend to peak at a younger age and start the downward slide much earlier. just looking at him he reminds me of john hartson. bald at an early age, beginning to go pear shaped much earlier then he should

before anyone says it, yes i'm talking out my arse

neil for some reason i don't think he'll ever fulfill his potential

Time will tell I suppose. I know what you mean about his temperament but that is just a problem on the pitch. The players who don't live up to the hype often seem to me to be the ones who have problems off the pitch. For whatever reason he seems to be doing OK at that.

Personally I'm starting to think there's nothing too wrong with that. Within reason of course.

Of course there is nothing wrong with it if you are about the same age as them

Well he's no oil painting himself is he?

To be honest though I'd have thought that his interest in "the more mature lady" reveals something about his psychological make-up. It looks Oedipal in a lad of his age.

Come on Ken, you must have met his family...

OK, his mum is fairly masculine but pretty soft/kind hearted if you get to know her. His old fella was always fine with me, but had a bit of a hard man/bruiser image. From the stories the other kids told me at registration, 4 or 5 of them would sag the afternoon and go and spit roast some kid's mum. Also local legend Crafty Sue was mentioned, but whether Wayne shagged her is not known to me.
