Imagine both teams get kicked out of the tourney which leaves Ac Milan or Bayern Munich battling it out to reach the final.

There's been quite a few deaths of Italian policemen at football matches in recent years.

Reckon they've had enough of it. If any fan kicks off they are getting done. Glad the mancs are on the end of it. Might teach them not to sing about Heysel, or probably not. It wasn't us guv. Scum.

Absolute ****ing SCUM. Top of the banning order list every season, top of the numbers of arrests. ****ing LOWLIFE SCUM.

I am consumed by hatred for the odious ****s.
Mate, it seems Roman police are the culprits here. One or two manc fans got a helluva beating by the police which is totally out of order. Think they were provoked there.

In any case, that's very bad for english football. What a sad state of affairs.

The police charging back with truncheons, reinforcement police being brought in, that will really calm things down - not.

Some utd fans were ambushed earlier by the ultras, which got things prob heated up beforehand.

we all know that roma fans can be dangerous. united are really kicking off now

i don;t think the "watch yourselves in rome" warning by united helped matters

united just charged at some perspex barriers and going nuts

second half may be delayed apparently

united's night of shame? my heart bleeds i can tell you

We've just heard a loud crash and there is smoke over there. It is very, very nasty inside this ground now. I don't know if the Roma fans started this but they are happy now as it is between the police and the United fans."

Agree with you mate. English fans never did much harm for a number of years and it's always at places like that that things start to kick in. There's obviously the Heysel precedent which isn't going in their favor but I can't condone United fans for protecting themselves.

Oh dear - not looking good for the Mancs..

It's all going off in the Olympic Stadium - down to 10 men, 1 goal down AND the fans running riot!! No exaggeration, this is bad.

UEFA are definately going to look into this one when it's all over

I can't comment on the crowd problems, as I'm watching Chelski, but from a football point of view, I hope Roma go for the jugular now Scum are down to 10 men.

They were involved with trouble at Lille (not all there own fault) and now Roma. They're going to get us banned at this rate.

well we have first hand experience of what provocation the Italian suppertes can bring to the table, lets not just to conclusions just yet
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
