As you say, that's bang out of order. Thought that LFC fans knew better bearing the scars of Heysel and Hillsborough.
That's a shame and could be very detrimental to any English club participating in European competition in the future.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostIf it was fans of some club we had no clue about I don't think quite so many people on here would be talking like they had just got what they deserved. People are seeing things as they want them to be. It's ****ing shameful some of the **** people on here have said. There's every chance a lot of the people there tonight including some of those who were beaten fiercely by the police wanted absolutely no part in all this. Wait for the facts at least. What's right is right, Scouse, Manc, or otherwise.

To be honest mate, there's ways of dealing with things, and that wasnt it.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostI apologize, got carried away there.
What is clear is that they put themselves into a situation of their own volition, where the police could've re-acted, and they subsequently did.
The reaction from the police might've been brutal, but from the pictures I saw they were only beating those amongst the charge, they didn't purposely head into the scrum of united fans stood metres away and start swinging.
Their job is to control the situation and calm it, not to fecking assault people - what ever happened to 'reasonable force' ? There's nothing reasonable about beating someone until there's blood gushing from their head. And how about that fella laying along the seats, not moving? He wasnt posing a threat in that position - why the need to constantly keep coming down with the baton? It's barbaric. That's not policing, that's thuggery.
If it had happened to our lot - charging or no charging, we'd be absolutely furious.
It was a disgrace.

Dont think anyone said that, did they?Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View Post
Police were unprovoked eh?
The point is though, firstly there could easily have been people who DIDNT provoke anyone, that got caught up in the violence - the police werent being uber selective about who they attacked, after all.
Secondly, there's getting control of the situation, and there's out and out thuggery.
The police took it too far. They didnt just control the situation, they outright assaulted people, when there was no need.

Check out the woman at the bottom bricking it. And the little kid at the top right.

Once the batons move in she really is ****ting herself, unlike the 'hands up' woman in the middle who actually looks quite calm! Kid's got away from the area by the looks of it.

Bit of a guess here but the guy helping someone in the bottom left looks like the same one in the dailymotion vid linked to below the pic. Some of the reports say bottles were thrown, maybe he was hit and that's why he went to help him, presumably he wasn't in the best condition to get out of the way when the police went on their baton charge. Lol sorry just thinking out loud

The vid... http://www.dailymotion.com/Matthierr...k_crowd-fights
Is it the same guy helping?
Don't know if this is from the same group of police in the other photos but it looks like they charged quite a long way through...

There should be a proper and thorough investigation into this ****, too much has gone wrong seemingly on all sides.Last edited by Red_Polo; 05-04-07, 01:26 AM.Like blood on iron

Who's innocence?Originally posted by Quinncy View PostWords,i`m not arguing against you.i`m arguing against their innocence.
It's all academic really, innocent or not, the manc fans were treated appallingly.
If someone's out of control, the police should exercise enough force to regain control, and that's it.
If a bloke's laying down, not moving, you dont need to keep fecking beating him, he's under your control.
