    Amazed by this support

Ok, I saw this on a thread on RAWK, and it just took my breath away. I know we acclaim ourselves as being some of the best fans around, and no doubt we are, but I look at these videos and I am amazed by the support these fans give their team.

The first video is taken from an event celebrating 80 years of PAOK Salonika. Unbelievable passion and the lyrics cant help but inspire, great song, and very distinctive.

The second video is Panathinaikos basketball fans and again the passion is evident. The combination of passion, emotive lyrics, heartfelt signing, synchronisation and the way the two tiers of fans are in tandem is inspiring.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0rMe2Vyb9E

    Two awesome sights.

I see this, and I think as great as we are as supporters, there is still a lot we can learn about supporting and inspiring our team.

PAOK have been around 80 yrs and are one of the bigger clubs but have only won a handful of trophies in Greece. A couple of leagues and a few cups. One of their biggest results was knocking Arsenal out of Europe about 10 years ago. They are noted as having by far the most passionate fans in Greece - they are famous for this. They're the most passionate fans you'll see anywhere and their stadium capacity cant be much more than 20,000 odd. Yet look at the way they sing at a formal televised event.

As for the 2nd video, it's a couple of thousand people at a basketball match FFS yet look at the passion - awe-inspiring.

If you understood the lyrics as well you'd be blown away. If you're a player and had that kind of support you'd feel 10 feet tall.

I think the club was formed by Greek refugees from Constantinople.

Like I say, some of the most fanatical fans anywhere in the world

F*cking loved the Panathinaikos clip. What a superb tune.

But in terms of noise nothing will ever come close to this...

Amazing clip. Watching that I'm so proud I don't support a plastic club like Arsenal with their plastic, generic nonsense like "We love you Arsenal" and "who are ye".

But I do wish we had something like the Panathinaikos song, where perhaps the Kop is leading the song and the other sides of the stadium follow. That would be awesome.

If we could get that going it would be great, but the song really needs the kind of lyrics that the PAOK version has simply to do it justice.

The PAOK one is brilliant too but the Panathinaikos song literally sends shivers down my spine. Pure passion. Love that sh!t.

The PAOK fans were great! Credit to them!

But I think our record of the loudest fans in the world (from the Carling Cup final 2004/05) has been bettered by Turkish fans. I'll try to find a link and post it here...

Singing the same three words over and over doesn`t even come close to YNWA at full blast. It didn`t even seem that loud to me.

                          Verdict,we win easily.

Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."
