    Mark Clattenburg

He was outstanding yesterday for the match between Manure and Pompey. Without him United probably would have had two contentious refereeing decisions gone their way and would have won the match. I've closely watched him a number of times and I do think he must be the best ref in the league at the moment. Hats off to him.

Agreed that he made a couple of correct decisions regarding penalty claims yesterday. Under pressure from the likes of Wayne Rooney maybe another referee would have given them.

When the ball moves in a different direction to where the attacking player is taking it you'd think it fairly easy.

        Primus made two awesome tackles.

Clattenburg is easily one of the best refs in the league.

Clattenburg is easily the best ref in the Prem...been saying it for ages, since Durkin's retirement.

He's young enough to form a respectful relationship with the players, and doesn't patronise them.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yep he's still 31 methinks mate. His obvious quality is his fitness ! He's always on the spot and close to the action. He also reads the game so well. Don't know if he's been playing footy at any level though. All in all, I'd prefer him refereeing big matches rather than seeing that **** Graham Poll doing them.

Interestingly Clattenburg is top of the Premiership referees' table for number of cards produced, even though he hasn’t dished out a red card this season he’s shown 93 yellow cards in 22 matches.

Six of those yellow cards were for Everton players against Arsenal recently, so obviously he’s the best in the Premiership!

Primus was awesome, made me sick how Shrek went mad like they were actually penalties. Nice one Clatty
"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

2 mins sin-binning for first offence should be the norm for screamaholics in yer refs face antics like Rooney does, yellow for second offence, it is an awful side of the game to see, do they really think it is going to change his mind, or feel intimidated enough to give the next decision their way or something?

rooney looks like a caveman when he starts with his screaming. he reminds me of the monkeys in 2001 space odyssey when they go ape**** and start battering each other with bones. primus made him look stupid twice and rooney couldnt handle it. fair play to clattenburg for ignoring the inevitable over the top protests

He's a tempramental barsteward, is Roney. Hopefully the Roma players will take advantage of his temper and 'engineer' a sending off for him early in the game. FORZA Roma.

Good performance from Clattenburg but I agree that Shrek should have been booked for his rant.

I remember when a ridiculous looking Gazza got sent off playing for Middlesbrough, for swearing at a linesman. I couldn't believe it at the time, and it looks even more ridiculous now.

Rooney screams '**** OFF! **** OFF YOU CHEATING C*NT!" right in refs' faces more often than he scores goals. How does he continually get away with it?

If I was to choose betwen Graham Poll, Mike Riley and Alan "Mike Riley" Wiley, I'd choose Mark Clattenburg! Easy as that! He's by faaaaar the best ref in the Premiership!
