Schuster: Chelsea's Mourinho set for Real Madrid

Schuster: Chelsea's Mourinho set for Real Madrid
    tribalfooball.com - April 14, 2007

Getafe coach Bernd Schuster insists Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho remains favourite for the Real Madrid job.

Schuster has denied agreeing to take charge of Real Madrid next season and insists Mourinho is likely to get the job.

Schuster said: "I haven't signed any contract or pre-contract with Real Madrid.

"I think Jose Mourinho is going to win the final battle to go to Real Madrid next year."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

He will probably take Lampard and Terry with him to Real when he leaves.

I can see Fat Frank leaving especially as his bint is Spanish but I reckon Terry would stay. Drogba has to be a good bet to leave with Maureen.

He's going to manage England according to the Daily Mirror.

          JOSE FOR ENGLAND
EXCLUSIVE: CHELSEA BELIEVE HE IS IN LINE FOR SURPRISE SWITCH
By Oliver Holt And John Cross 14/04/2007
CHELSEA expect Jose Mourinho to take over as England boss when he is axed by the club in the summer.

Stamford Bridge sources say Mourinho has indicated he would be eager to take control at Soho Square if Steve McClaren is sacked. And the Blues manager has already discussed the challenges of the England post with trusted confidants at the club.

Mourinho's relationship with Roman Abramovich has broken down so completely that the owner avoids being under the same roof as his manager - never mind in the same room.

Chelsea sources have confirmed recent reports that Mourinho, whose team take on Blackburn tomorrow in the FA Cup semi-final, will be fired at the end of the season even if he wins the unique Quadruple.

Abramovich has abandoned his post-match custom of going into the dressing room and even missed Chelsea's Champions League victory in Valencia in midweek.

But while Abramovich still goes to the club's training ground in Cobham, Surrey, on a regular basis, he makes a point of avoiding Mourinho.

However, the Portuguese boss, named Manager of the Month yesterday, is keen to stay in England because his wife and children are so happy - but he would prefer not to manage another Premiership club immediately.

The FA are aware of Mourinho's interest and are already agonising about McClaren's fate, but know they must act quickly if Abramovich sacks Mourinho.

Some influential figures within the FA are already steeling themselves for a £2.5m pay-off to McClaren before enticing Mourinho with a three-year deal worth close to £15m.

The FA will have to make a decision about their manager after England's European Championship qualifying tie in Estonia on June 6.

Haha, that'd be funny if he got the England job.

It sounds to me like the Mirror are just putting two and two together. I reckon Mourinho needs to be in people's faces (via the media) on a day-to-day basis, he needs the attention. In international management, you don't get that and I find it hard to imagine Mourinho would want what is in some ways a part-time job.

agreed, i can see lampshade and drogba going, but terry, i'd say it was 50-50 as to him going, maybe depends on who takes over.

it would be great to see mourinho in charge of england, he has the balls (more than just dropping beckham like mcclaren) to say whats on his mind and act accordingly

The Mirror really do talk bollocks.

There's no way he'll be England manager. Ever.

I hope Klinsmann does replace him. They'd be well fooked with him in charge.

Oh mate, it'd be hilarious wouldn't it? I've got images in my head of Abramovich sat in his office rubbing his hands together and saying 'ha nobody will miss that irritating Mourinho fool when I pull off this masterstroke appointment!' Wishful thinking I suspect, but still

I imagine that Michael Bollock would be happy having his ex international manager in charge. I doubt most of their non-German playing squad would though.

                          I hope it happens.

Forgot about him. He'd be right up their street. Perhaps Mourinho and Mclaren could even do a job swap in the summer.
