    Cup Final Prices

FA happy with 'family affordable' Wembley showpiece

The Football Association say they have set "competitive prices" for the FA Cup final.

Manchester United and Chelsea will contest the showpiece match at the new Wembley stadium on May 19.

The FA have confirmed that tickets will be priced at £35, £60, £80 and £95.

A limited number of tickets will also be made available to the clubs at £17.50 for under-16s.

The FA believe the occasion is family-affordable.

Chief Executive Brian Barwick said: "It was important to set ticket prices at a sensible and affordable level for the first FA Cup final at the new Wembley.

"We believe these are very competitive prices for what will be a historic match."

Tickets will be sold via the Chelsea and Manchester United ticket offices only - there will be no general sale.

The allocations will be confirmed later this week following meetings with the two clubs.

The Football Supporters' Federation believe the lowest ticket price should be between £15-20, not £35.

Chairman Malcolm Clarke said: "That would have been quite reasonable. The two clubs could certainly afford it.

"Football in general is rapdily pricing itself out of the reach of a lot of ordinary supporters.

"Across the board football, is too highly priced and this is just the latest example."

Family friendly? Cheapest seats would be £140 for mum, dad and 2 kids before you've got in the car/train/coach or even bought a cheesburger for £5, a hotdog for £4, a packet of crisps for £1.50 or a chocolate bar 90p.
Drinks are even worse a small cola is £2.20.

    ****in FA :whatever:

If you dont have kids, it's very easy to forget the costs involved for families.

There i was thinking "£35...not too bad actually"...naive of me really.

It's not on, the days of a dad and his lads going are looking numbered. So many people get into footie as kids, when their mum or dad would take them. But this fecks it right up.

Where are the future generations of fans going to come from?

Cheapest seats should be £20 for adults, £10 for kids.
