It is so similar in many ways, from the area of the pitch is started etc etc..
Messi cut inside much earlier of course, but the first though that enters your head as you seeing it is Maradona straight away..

I wonder if it entered Messi's head as he was bearing down on goal ? Brought up to idolise Diego and all that, I'm sure at at least entered his mind as he was spinning away celebrating..

Now imagine Ronaldo doing that to us in Athens !!!!
    Not a chance :whatever:

I used to score goals like that when I was playing footie at school.

Am no longer as fleet footed because of a fookin' knee injury and the fact I'm 33 now.

Note: This was done on a much lower level than the one you saw.

Probably another reason to why Inter is prepared to pay £100m for him.

Fantastic goal by a the best player in the World.

As fast as a young Owen but with a lot better skill.

        Messi
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Amazing. That is just sheer genius. Pace, technique, control, balance, nerve, anticipation and some luck.

ditto - will i ever get my pace back after my cruciate injury i wonder. if so i could be back scoring goals like that again.

Note: This was done at an extremely low level but perhaps not quite as low a fredos

                            Seriously, it's incredible. Simply incredible.

I know there have been more important goals against better defenders etc, but have you EVER seen a better individual goal than that ?

                            A few contenders:

Actually it wasn't as good as last season's best goal in Spain. Which, incidentally was scored by Getafe.

Messi's was better than both of those.
