    Real Madrid vs. Valencia - David Beckham

    what a difference Beckham made. he practically won the game for them, when he came on they were the poorer side, with only 4 attempts on goal. with in 5 minuted he put in 3 wicked crosses that could have lead to a goal besides setting up the winning header from a massive freekick. in the 20 minutes he was on the had more attempts on goal than they had the entire game...

    biggest mistake of his football career is cashing in so early. has 1 or 2 years left in him at top level at least. it's probably the best decision financial wise as he will earn something about half a billion dollars + with advertising and all in the states. but he has buck loads of money anyways and in 10 years time i think he'll regret not playing more top level football. thats something even money can't buy...

    the off the field garbage that rules his life has always threatened to undermine the talent he has

    looks like he has finally given in to it completely

    the sad thing for him is that no one in america will even know/care he's here

      I'm sure I read somewhere that LA Galaxy had already sold 7000 more season tickets than last year, and including shirt sales they had made something like £8 mill extra even before he arrived. So at least some americans know he is coming

        I'm not sure - If the Real setup refuse to use him as a first team player any move would be down and there is little hope of a return to United the team of his youth. There appears no way back into the England team that will compete in a major tournament, so in many ways choosing to pioneer football in the states was the biggest challenge available to him.

        The one worry was that some Championship player recently returned from the states complaining that the intensity of the game was very low and he got bored. I guess he may just have been **** over there and covering his ass though.

          He's great at free kicks and crossing FFS, how does that make him a great player? He's a good player never great.

              He's still got one or even two years left at the very top.

              He'll regret his decision, I still think he's class.

                  beckahm on the football pitch has never been a 'pleasure to watch' when you got look at the stars of the seventies that went over. All skilful crowd pleasers I can imagine the Yanks being very bored watching beckham on the pitch.

                  He is and always will be a 1 trick pony but that trick is still the best right foot cross in the modern game

                    Do you remember who that was? Was he any good? If the game is slow over there Becks should be able to adjust fine, he´s not the most technical or fastest of the lot and Spain probably has less intensity than the Championship. I think Becks is not the only one who would have taken this decision, will probably be lots of fun for the Beckhams.

                        He never lost his ability to cross a ball or his passion and willingness to fight for the team, which is a credit to him but his legs are probably gone.

                        Leaving Real in this kind of form will be the perfect send off rather then moving to Italy and having just a average season and leaving the main football scene on a downer

                          i don't know, he hasn't won anything in years, for a player of his caliber a "megastar" he should be winning things, i wouldn't dare go to the states if i had a chance of winning something with the big teams, i'd much rather go to italy to ac or inter (they said they were interested). if real would win the league, i think it will be a great send of for him, but if they don't i'd reckon his time spent at real has been a failure...
