Well he has, according to Spanish sports daily Marca. The Barcelona forward's contract expires this summer and, after struggling to agree terms, it appears "El Conejo" has opted to sign for their fiercest rivals.
The 25-year-old former River Plate man signed for Barcelona in a £20 million deal six years ago but, despite a goal ratio of almost one in every two matches in his first three seasons, the diminutive striker was not deemed part of new boss Frank Rijkaard's plans farmed out on loan for two years, first to Monaco and then to Sevilla.
And, even though he has impressed when called-upon for Barca this season, Saviola's current pay deal is viewed as excessive by the Catalan club's board and he has only been offered reduced terms toe extend a contract that expires this summer.
He had been expected to join a Premiership club in the summer but it is claimed that Real Madrid are pouncing for Saviola in a deal that would upset Barca supporters but would not be the first time a player has moved between the clubs in recent seasons - Luis Figo and Luis Enrique being pertinent examples.
