    Henry: "Wenger forever"

These big strikers that we are linked with seem to be dropping out, were just left with just Klaas Jan Huntelaar left to sign

    Eurosport

Thierry Henry has insisted he will stay at Arsenal, as long as manager Arsene Wenger is in charge. The Gunners captain has been persistently linked with a move to Barcelona, despite his signing of a new contract last summer.

And the Frenchman has reiterated his stance on where he will be playing next season - under his compatriot Wenger.

He told Sport magazine: "At the end of last season, I signed a new contract. I believe in the boss and what and what he is trying to do here. As long as he is here, then I will be here - it's just as simple as that."

Wenger's future at the Emirates Stadium was brought into question last week when David Dein, a good friend of the Frenchman's, was ousted from the Arsenal boardroom following a dispute over a potential US investor.

It was thought Wenger may follow suit and leave the north London club, but he has since pledged his allegiance to the Gunners and will be in charge, alongside a new sporting director, for the start of next season.

And that can only be good news for Arsenal fans, who have been starved of success this year and will be looking forward to the return of Henry after an injury-blighted campaign.

Henry has not played since Arsenal's Champions League exit to PSV Eindhoven at the beginning of March, and without him the Gunners have struggled.

Henry puts it down to a lack of concentration from the youngsters who have found themselves thrown into the spotlight this season.

He said: "We don't do this on purpose. We have ended up losing so many points against teams we should have beaten.

"The talent is there but you need to put the ball in the back of the net, and I wasn't fresh enough, or there enough, to do that for the team this season.

"It was the same with Robin van Persie, who has been injured, and William Gallas, who was out for more than three months.

"I'm not complaining about these things, but it is a fact and it does make a difference. We have a lot of amazing youngsters at the club, but you need experience too."

"We'd be in a much better position if we had taken our chances. We do have something to build on, but we need to kill teams off. That's all that let us down this year."
