    Messi's Contract.

Watching the Barclona game last night, and they bought up Messi's contract.

They said he'd been offered a new one, and would have to take a 50% pay cut!

    What the ****???!!!

He cant be happy about that, so I guess he'll be looking for a new club...

    ...but who could afford him???!!!

I can only think of one Club!

Id be shocked if Barca were looking to offload. The whole story sounds fabricated if i'm honest.
Messi taking a pay cut, ok let me get this straight in my head, he s only about 20 yrs old, if even that, so you would expect him not to be earning astronomical wages as it is, so to be offering him a new deal and cutting his wages in half, sounds vry untrue especially after him recently playing some of his best ever football to date. and if his contract is running out, and they want to sell, why not give him the money he is after then sell him.
Something not right about this runour, doesnt make buisness or football sense and its just my opinion, but he wont be leaving Barca in the summer.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Doubt it was Messi they were talking about. I know that they've offered Saviola a new contract and that they're asking him to tak a pay cut, but that's only because when he first signed for Barca, the previous management gave him a 4/5 year deal worth 80k a week!
They've won the league, bigger stars than Dallas, they've got more silver than Buckhingham Palace, no one knows quite what to expect, when the Red Machine's in full effect!

Messi is class, I doubt Barcelona are stupid enough to cut his pay packet, but if true he'll leave for sure.

Messi and Crouch would be fun to watch.

There is no chance whatsoever of Messi leaving Barca.

He owes his career and life to Barca.

When he was a young kid of 12/13 he couldnt play in Argentina becoz the clubs over their could not afford his medical bills (cant remember the illness, something to do with growth). Barca paid for those sky high medical bills and provided him with a home

He is Barca through and through because they raised him

yup it's defo Savvy that's been offered a reduced contract. Think he wants to stay at Barca, but whether he will take reduced terms is up to him.
