Michael Owen must be so pleased. His 3rd manager in 3 seasons and they're stll languishing in mid table mediocrity.

Makes you wonder If Dunk and his inbred season ticket holder mates will ever figure out that it's Freddie Shepherd who's the real problem up there?

It does make you laugh though. They spend fortunes on players and managers, yet they have no patience to wait for a team to develop.

I reckon they need a real reality check like relegation. Keegan took over when they were in the 2nd division and was given the time to rebuild. But with the gulf between the have and the have nots getting wider any manager going there has to get results straight away. You would think that they would look at ourselves with Rafa, Arsenal with Wenger and the scum with Fergie that it pays to back a manager with time. Unless of course you hire someone as inept as Roeder. And in that case why even hire a manager? Perhaps it's because the board and fans are clueless? Hilarious.

Why the current trend for appointing managers who are miles out of their depth. Roeder, Staunton and Pearce are three that spring to mind. None of these have anything like the talent required. Roeder has cut a pitiful sight these last few months. The chinless wonder has been a dead man walking all season.

                Roeder summoned by board
By Alex Dunn - Created on 6 May 2007

Sky Sports News understands Glenn Roeder has been summoned to an emergency board meeting at Newcastle.

Local reports suggest Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd called the meeting to discuss the club's disappointing season, as talk of Roeder's possible exit intensifies.

A 2-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at St James' Park on Sunday was greeted by a crescendo of boos and calls for Roeder's head, as a disgruntled home crowd made their feelings clear.

Newcastle have been hampered all season by a succession of injuries to key men, most noticeably Michael Owen, but their 13th place in the Premiership table will likely be deemed unacceptable.

Sam Allardyce's recent departure from Bolton will do nothing to quell talk of Roeder being dismissed, given the fact that Shepherd has in the past been open in his admiration for the former Wanderers chief.

                More news to follow...

The upshot is that Roeder resigned by mutual consent before being pushed today.

Suppose it's all just words & payoffs really.

They can say goodbye to Owen and Martins then. I can't see them stay and play for Sam if he takes over.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                          I don't agree with that.

Newcastle have had a lot of injuries this season so they shouldn't expect any better place in the league.

Parker, Emre, Owen, Ameobi, Given, Duff, Dyer, Sibierski, Lua Lua, Moore, Ramage, Babayaro, N'Zogbia and Luque have been out a long time this season.

Not sure about that AF. The pair of idiots played for Roeder so I don't see why they wouldn't play for fat Sam.

I think they should have a look at why they have so many injuries all the time. Cant just be Bad Luck. Every season it's the same story

I dont think Roeder leaving will prompt Owen and Martins to leave. They were probably leaving anyway, if they do

Owen played 12 games for Roeder' I'm not sure if I can call that playing for him.

Martins and Owen won't stay IMO if the club won't guarantee quality signings.

I'm also not that sure that Sam can get the best players to sign for Newcastle.
