    Lawrie Sanchez quits

Sanchez has quit the Northern Ireland job to become Fulham manager. I'm disappointed but not particularly surprised. It would have been nice if he could have stayed on until the end of the Euro 2008 qualifying, after all it ends in November which is only a couple of months into the Premiership season.

    Still thanks for everything Lawrie!

Just goes to show that international football management is now the stepping stone to becoming a Premiership club manager and not the other way around as it used to be (Sanchez, Mark Hughes, now possibly Klinsmann as well).

Aw ffs, i'm gutted and i'm sure all Northern Ireland fans and indeed players are aswell.
Thanks for installing some pride in our wee country but i'm disappointed that you didn't honour your contract(end of euro qualifiers)
I'm not sure where we go from here

I think there are a few top jobs - Brazil, Italy, England, Argentina, oddly Portugal where this isn't the case but in general I agree.

I think Fulham have taken a massive gamble here to be honest. It is clear Sanchez is an excellent motivator and can help teams compete against those who are better than the ones he runs. He showed this not only with NI but also at Wycombe, but on a consistent basis over a season this will be tough, if I rmemeber correclty and I could be wrong, despite Wycombe's cup heroics they didn't get promoted out of the league they were in.

I think it is a sign that Al Fayed doesn't want to put more money in to be honest. He wants a manager to make the best of what they have and not to demand too much in terms of transfers. Coleman and before him Tigana were coaches who liked passing football but the sort of players who can do that in the PL cost big money. In the last season or so Fulham have become basically a selling club with no decent replacements of similar quality or value bought in for Malbranque or Boa Morte. It all smacks of a disinterested owner.

If Rafa hadn't have picked that weakened team last weekend then Fulham would have lost to us and Lawrie would still be NI manager.

                    I blame Liverpool!

Fulham will do crap next year. Sanchez is a **** manager.

Internationals is a different level to Club teams these days.

He done a Excellent job with them in his time, but now they will go back to the way they were before he came. Bye bye these temp glory days
