Whilst Parker was foolish and acted like a child when he went to Chelsea he got what he deserved. Sidwell is different in the respect he wanted to see what was laid out in front of him if he hung on as long as he could. He was available to Reading even if Coppell in the end decided not to use him.

In one way its a good move for him working alongside really good players, in another we might only see him every now and again. Its a risk he will have to take, But Makelele isnt getting any younger and Lampard is continually linked to Spain these days.

i think parker moved under much better circumstances, they didn't have 12 central midfielders, parker is quality and he has shown that for newcastle, and i think he thought he was going to play more. parker only had to compete with makalele and lampard, now they also have ballack and essien, and mikel also playing there. sidwell will rot in the dark at chelski...

Why is he a plonker? Put urself in his shoes, what if you were offered that kind of money? Would you turn it down? Don't think so

Chances are Reading could have a bad season next year and he could then go unnoticed.

Personally i wouldnt turn down 50k a week if that was on offer. Imagine the signing on fee. Considering chelsea aren't playing a tranfer fee he's probably getting enough money from this deal to set him up for life

Personally i think your all daft for having a go at him

theres a difference between being a good player at newcastle/tottenham and moving to chelsea and being a good player at reading/west ham and moving to chelsea.....

I think it's more to do with the fact he's sacrificed potentially his career for the next couple of years for the sake of mega-money.

I'm sure there were a stack of clubs with weaker midfield's where he could be earning the pittance of £35k a week.

he's a plonker because he is going to sit on a bench just like parker swp mancihe etc. sure the moneys great but he's supposed to be a footballer that wants to play first team football surely he has seen what has happened to these other players. its ok for you to say you wouldn't turn down £50k a week i wouldn't either but its not as if he is only earning a couple of hunred a week!

That's exactly why they've signed him.

Mikel and Essien will be off to the AFN (as well as Kalou and Drogba).

Expect them to sign a striker of similar ilk too.
