So, Jewell to Citeh, Pearce to Wigan and Fat Sam to the Barcodes. I reckon all 3 will be out of work again by next summer.

If Big Sam can't turn around Newcastle to be fighting with Blackburn and Spurs for the UEFA spots then no one can. He will bring organisation and has a good eye for a signing. I think he will be a big success.

Judging him by his time at Bradford is a bit harsh, due to the level of interference. However Wigan need to reshape their squad and I'm not sure you can do that in a way ready for the PL without either a/ big money or b/ the reputation to attract players. Hutchings will have neither and I predict will struggle, unless Wigan have a hidden world beating youth team.

He was great but unfortunately as all of us know he is good for one game and then poor for the next 10 or so.

He could make a decent centre-half though on yesterday's evidence. He was always good defending set pieces for us.

Never rated him as a manager. Good motivator but WOEFUL eye for a player and wasn't the best tactically.

To be fair to Pearce he did sort them out defensively - they are a vast improvement in that department to when Keegan left, Pearce's problem was finding cheap, attacking players that can nick goals.
