I was listening to Greame Hunter before the match on ITV and he was saying that "there would be a vicious auction", his words not mine, for Alves in the summer. He reckons that we missed a trick last year when we never coughed up the extra couple of million. I tend to agree with that.

      I totally agree mate, I think we did miss a trick. Big time.

      I think we've missed the boat now but I'd love to be proved wrong. Exceptional player.

        I don't think that it was just a case of a few million more. I think that Seville had no real intention of selling him as they knew if he stayed he would give them a chance to really challenge.

        Also seeing as we only got the transfers we did with the help of a loan from the chairman I'm not convinced it was ever a viable option.

        I guess we shall see in the summer.
