    Better Achievement??

Is Liverpool reaching the final of the Champions league for the second time in 3 years (and maybe win it, fingers crossed) or Sevilla winning the Uefa Cup for the second time in 2years?

Both massive achievements in this modern day football environment where so many teams have the capabilities to win these cups.

    Sevilla probably.

We've always had a history as a major European force, even before Istanbul and Athens. Sevilla have built an absolutely outstanding side from scratch.

Im kind of siding that way as well AA to be in the final two years straight is a great achievement, i know the UEFA Cup isnt as strong as the Champs league but its a long tournament with the league firstly and then the Champs League teams coming into it.

With them having success maybe after this year their team will just explode with the coach probably out the door to another club.

but then again, we hadn't done much in the CL/European cup in years, so for us to reach it twice in 3 years is a massive achievement, maybe even bigger than sevilles. Look at our nearest rivals (Mancs,Arse and Chavs) only 2 finals between in 15yrs in the cl. We've been in it, what, 5 times now and reached the final 2 already.

If Seville manage to win La Liga as well, it will be a much bigger achievement.

If not I would side with Liverpool because our achievement has included victories over many of the top sides in Europe.

The UEFA cup is very odd. Not a lot of teams take it overly seriously until the final stages - appropriately making it a bit like a continental league cup.

If you factor in their league performances I think Sevilla's is a bigger achievement considering their starting point. In Europe I would say ours is, but then at this point Milans recent CL form would trump both IMO.

As usual you're completely missing the point of this entire thread.

                        It's a relative comparison.

Back to back UEFA Cups is a very good acheivment for them, but it doesn't compare to a single European Cup win IMO.

Yeah, but they're a tiny club Polo with a trophyless history....we're a giant of a club.

What Sevilla have acheived has been absolutely stunning, even more so if they can lift the La Liga title.

A slightly different reply to virtually the same post as mine.
