It wasn't the same season but in 2003 we drew 2-2 at Anfield and the first half delivered by the Gooners was out of this world.
Bergkamp, Vieira, Pires and Henry just kept the ball rolling all 45 minutes and we were always one step behind...

I wouldn't class Argentina 1986 as a great team. They wer every fortunate they had one of, if not the best, player of all time. Take him out and they would have struggled. Brazil 82 however, wow. They came to Cardiff the year after but nearly all of the side stayed home they only had Eder really. He took a free kick and I was directly behind it. Never seen a ball swerve lik that one did!

Brazil 1982 is a good shout.
Argies 1986 was too reliant on Donna, but still a very good team.

I liked AC Milan when VanBasten played there, and the Ajax teams with Bergkamp etc before they sold everything too, but I reckon the Barca team with Romario and Stoichkov was ace. Such fun to watch.

Marseille with Papin, Deschamps, Boli, Waddle (), Desailly etc were also a team to remember, aside from their corrupt chairman.

Papin was a ****in awesome striker, absolutely ****in awesome. Never got the credit he deserved IMO.

I saw Papin play in the flesh, in my only ever England game. England-France, obv, Shearer's debut. He started up front with David Hirst and Papin played for them. Same game as Geoff Thomas' hilariously inept "chip".

Ahh yes, the great England team of Graham Taylor. Was that amazing midfielder Carlton Palmer playing?

Holland in the 88 Euros...Marco Van Basten scoring the goal from that angle. Koeman and his free kicks. Rickard and his hair....What a team that was.

Didn't Socrates take the peno's by standing next to the ball (no run up) and putting it in either top corner
