    If you were Carlo Ancelotti....

What would you say to those players sitting in that dressing room in Athens 10 mins before kickoff?

Would it be a speech about revenge?? about what our team took from them 2 years ago?

Or would it be a talk about remaining focused, getting the job done this time round?

I think the result 2 years ago would have to come into it, after all the majority of the team is the same - he'll be playing on the sense of disappointment and frustration they'll have felt at the time.

He'd also talk about trying to quieten the crowd (as if he'd have a chance!!) and to stop us getting a grip on the game.

....and obviously to tell them not to think for one minute that the result is in the bag.

"I have a secret plan for success but you must trust in me. Kaka - score an own goal in the first minute and then hit the ref in the head so you get sent off, it will unnerve the opposition and give us an advantage."

I would talk about keeping your pride in tact and remaining focused. they would know their jobs well by now, so it just be about making sure everyone is thinking straight and in good spirit for the game.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I would tell Gattuso not to touch the cup this time.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

kaka you should then sign for liverpool over the summer!

on a serious note i dont think he will have to say much to them, they will be well up for it no matter who was giving them the team talk!

If I was Ancelotti I would ask one of my players to stick my giant head up my ass, and see if it fit.

i would try to reinforce their technical superiority.

I dont think it will matter because lfc will have an organisational and psychological superiority - and i also think well outlast them physically.

like i said on the above thread, theres a clear winning plan fo lfc for this final which requires us just to "do the job". Last time out we had to do something magical - when we can win the champions league by just doing our stuff, were getting somewhere.

I would be trying to calm the players down.

In a game of this magnitude, the desire for 'revenge' will have a negative impact on their football, in my opinion.
