there goes my bet on ronald koeman

better than pearce for signings maybe.

he bought in quite a few decent players for the chavs:

Gallas, Makelele, Lampard, Cech, Gudjohnsen, Duff, Bridge, Cole and Robben were all brought in by him. some important chelsea players in there.

he was ****e at valencia though, and parma finished 12 in serie A.... clearly any manager can do well with money

Parma I thought he only took over mid way when they were fighting relegation?

he has been odds on favourite for weeks now.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I suspect his experience fighting relegation at Parma will be a great help to him.

No surprise there then - it's always 'Cloudy & Rainy' in Manchester.

                      I'll get me coat.

While undoubtedly the worst pun I have witnessed in a long time that still made me smile.

The BBC gossip column says that Ranieri's arrival is conditional on Shinawatra's takeover. Which isn't a big suprise, however the events of the last few days in Thailand have to put a bit of a cloud over his head.

He got accused of electoral fraud and found guilty. His former party disbanded.
