    Bolton

Just seen that they are signing Gavin McCann. After the signing of JLloyd Samuel it would appear Sammy Lee is looking to continue Big Sams policy of rescuing players from the scrapheap or that he is having trouble recruiting players.

What is the concensus will Sammy struggle to keep Bolton afloat or will he add a bit of craft to their play?

I think Bolton are going to nosedive personally.

Allardyce was a big enough ego to keep the damaged goods he bought in check (Anelka, Diouf etc) and they had enough seasoned pro's mixed in (Davies, Speed etc) to make it work.

Trouble is Sammy has inherited an ageing squad with a lot of primadonnas and I'm not sure he's got the personality to control them.

Mid table mediocrity for them next season. Down the following year.
What have I learned, Mr Mackay? Three things. One - bide your time. Two - keep your nose clean. And three - don't let the *******s grind you down

I believe you missed out a "FACT" there.

I think they will struggle badly without Big Sam. I hope I'm wrong for Sammy's sake though.

It's probably the way I see it too, but I think the existing squad although aging is pretty decent and does have a few experienced heads and I think a central midfield of McCann, Campo and Nolan is better than most in the league.

A lot does rest on what Sammy can get out of teh ego like Diouff and Anelka like you say.
