Man city close in on new manager

If Man City can talk to Sevilla's manager while they're chasing the title, why can't we have spanish league players signed up already??

You do realise that a/ They haven't got him yet b/ there is no evidence of any contact between the two parties and c/ They will only get him if they get the takeover - the person behind which has had £750m of assets frozen.

It is clearly in the boards interest to leak this sort of positive news at this stage even if there is no contact and they have no idea how likely it is.

How is this speculation different to that linking us to Torres, Alves and Eto'o?

Yeah, the article's pretty clear that there hasn't been any contact either way. He may want to manage in England "some day", but it's highly unlikely that a Spanish manager who has been flirting with winning the Spanish title all season long is going to go running to a team that is likely to be flirting with relegation. I'm sure he will get plenty of attractive offers.
