    Sociedad hold talks with Coleman

    Hope he gets the job

Former Fulham boss Chris Coleman is in talks with Spanish club Real Sociedad over the vacant manager's position, BBC Sport understands.

Coleman, 37 was sacked by Fulham in April after four years in charge at Craven Cottage.

Miguel Angel Lotina quit as Sociedad's coach following their relegation from the Primera Liga earlier this month.

Lotina had been appointed in October but was unable to stop Sociedad going down for the first time in 40 years.

Coleman joined Fulham as a player in 1997 in a £2m move from Blackburn, but injuries suffered in a car crash in 2001 led to his retirement less then two years later.

He took over as manager in April 2003 following the departure of Jean Tigana.

Hope he gets the job too, he was unfairly treated at Fullham, and has struck me as the type of manager who is willing to learn. Would be a good move for him IMO, he would get to sample of different style of football which will only help him as a manager.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Sociedad is a club I try to follow a bit in La Liga so I hope he turns the ship a around (get them floating would be a start), like Diego says sorting out the defence is priority and he could be good for them, and Spain could be good for him, always liked him.

              Apparently Toshack recommended him.

I think he would do well there. He played good football and was always somewhat hamstrung as when he tok over Fulham started selling all their best players and giving him little money to buy replacements.

That said he bought a few no-hopers in.

Still good luck to him. I like the idea of more British coaches/managers going abroad.

Fair play to coleman, he has always been keen to manage abroad and learn his trade in different areas/countries. Good luck to him and Sociedad.....can only make him a better manager and hes ****ing young too.
