Northern Ireland captain Aaron Hughes has joined Fulham from Aston Villa in a £1m transfer deal.
The 27-year-old centre-back will be reunited with former Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez who is now in charge at Craven Cottage.
The former Newcastle United defender has agreed a three-year contract.
"When this opportunity presented itself I had no hesitation in discussing the manager's ambitions for the club," Hughes told the Fulham website.
"I am happy to have signed before the start of pre-season, which gives me the opportunity of being with the lads on day one."
Hughes has 44 international caps and made 50 league starts during his two seasons at Villa Park.
Delighted for him, regular first team football now.
Hughesy grew up about 10 miles from where i live now, my dads best friend is a good friend of his dad, got them sorted with tickets many of time when Aaron was at Newcastle. Nice lad from what i've been told and a boyhood Red to boot
