IMO Darren bent is a lot better than people are giving credit for, it was the same kind of ridicule bollox regarding Crouchy before he started banging in spectacular goals for fun, the same way he bagged 12 plus goals in the end season when he was with the saints off the top of my head, You dont become the EPLS top striker in a ordinary team by chance, the lad has something special.

Henry whilst my favorite player is turning 30 and for a player who relies on pace a lot thats not such a good thing. Sure he is technically superb but he has had injury problems of late and ehh hes 30 !!

That said I think he will be a huge hit at Barca

Bent is a decent player - and there aren't too many english strikers about or coming through at the moment which is why he is getting attention - 17M seems high and indeed 27M for Torres is quite mad IMO - but saying that we have been crying out for a big name and big money signing. If we were to sign Bent I wouldn't have been disappointed as I think he's a decent player.

it will be interesting to see how he fits in at Spurs.
They now have 4 very very decent strikers, and Jol could be building something there.
Their midfield and defense are pretty decent too, but not good enough to challenge at the top of the table.

Keane, Bent, Berbatov and Defoe.....I think many a team would settle for those strikers.

That said a squad consisting of Torres, Kuyt, Crouch is not too bad either and we have no idea what Veronin will bring in

Spurs have been ****e for years - I always expect them to do well cos they have a knack of buying up all the talked about young talent thats on the go, They're **** defensively, they need to get shot of robinson who is a crap keeper. King is their only decent defender and they are the only team in football that have more midfielders than we do - and their midfield is crap.
