Zambia lost in the other match played in Ottawa aginst Nigeria, final score was 2-1 to Nigeria.

Zambia had thier moments but the Nigerians were technically better and had a more fluid attacking to thier formation. Well Zambia had a decent tournament by thier standards and hopefully a few of them can go on to play for the senier team.

So I was 6 out of 8 in my assesment for last 16. Only Brazil & Japan let me down but hey ain't complaining. I am a footy walking encyclopedia after all.
So back to the games, Nigeria had a wee bit more to them than Zambia, sorry Zambian Red, well played to yer lads.
Argentina with the masterful, wonderful Aguero took care of Poland 3-1 in a display of absolute class.
I just came back from watching Mexico walk all over Congo 3-0. That Dos Santos lad is getting better by the minute. Scored a peno and could have had more. Congo played with 10 men since the 47th minute but Mexico were already 1-0 since half time.
The last match was Chile who beat Portugal 1-0. I have not seen the match yet but apparently there was a scrap and 3 players ( 1 chile & 2 portugal) got sent off. Gotta love latin footy.

Quarter finals on Saturday & Sunday, this is what I think is gonna happen.

      Saturday
USA v Austria : The Americans will march on, too storng for Austria.
Spain v Czech REP : Spain will prove too powerful for the negative Czechs.

      Sunday :

Chile v Nigeria : I will be at the game and my gut feeling is a corker of a match that will be decided on penos. Chile to win it.
Argentina v Mexico : Wha' a fooking match that will be. Two of the best teams I have seen in the tourney will clash and who would want to bet on one of them, I would not. Whoever wins this game WILL WIN the World Cup.
Argentina been fantastic so far, so has Mexico but I think the Argies will win it by 1 goal.

      Adios amigos.

One of the big clubs will probably sign Aguero next summer. His buy-out clause is €36m and if you look at todays market then that's a bargain for a player like him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Forgot to mention was a brilliant goal Agueros first one was. He let the ball bounce while he had his back to the goal inside the box, then flicked it over the defenders head before sidefooting it to the far post. Magic.

Did you see that he intentionally cushioned the ball into the air when he received the pass?

            Now that was class.

yeh that was class mate, would not be surprised if he ended up at R Madrid, Juventus or Ac Milan in a couple of years.

or that Rafa will try and sign him again. You can always hope and we need a creative player like him.

What a sad day in WC U20 today. The two most boring teams reached the semis.
Austria defended against the US and managed to sneak a 2-1 win. The Americans ran out of ideas, had a man sent off and crashed out of the tourney with their tails between their legs.
The Czechs did the same to Spain. Defended the whole match, stole a goal in extra time and won on penos 4-3.
Spain hit the post from 2 yards out and then missed the following shot from 4 yards out, unbelivable.
The Czechs were confident in the penos scoring all 4 while Spain scored 3 out of 5. The Czech keeper was the star man again saving one penalty just like he did against Japan in the previous round. So Austria will play Czech Rep on Wednesday.
Looking forward to tomorrows games, should be crackers.

agreed. was a bummer, but we didn't have the finishing and quality up front, and the defense was poor. That said, both Austrian goals came off of defensive blunders; the keeper not controlling a rebound from a save and the defender slipping on the wet pitch... The ref was handing out yellow cards like Halloween candy; he was the same ref who jobbed Brazil in their last match against Spain with the "no whistle on the free kick" move. I think Altidore and Adu shone, but not good enough. Proud of the USA, but not enough today.

I have never seen a miss like the one Spain did.

Anyone in the UK know if this is on live? Sky guide on TV and guide on-line both advertise the Spain game. Is this just an error or are they repeating last nights match? Couldn't find anything on the eurosport website either.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Cheers mate, but was hoping to watch it after the Copa America with a few beers. By that stage of the night, don't think my eyes would be capable of adjusting to a streamed quality link. I'm sure the listing is just a mistake on Sky's behalf though, doubt Eurosport would buy the rights to the competition and not show the final live.
