          Continental clubs snub Lampard

Looks like no-one wants him though

          Continental giants snub Lampard

          Jamie Jackson
          Sunday July 1, 2007
          The Observer

Frank Lampard 'knows he has no chance of moving' to any of the big European clubs and so will almost definitely stay at Chelsea, according to an executive at Barcelona. 'There is no other option. He has been offered to us, Milan, Inter and Real Madrid. Basically all of the big clubs. But none are interested. We are the same as those clubs are, we're looking for a player who is more creative and has a greater technique than Lampard. So it looks like he will go nowhere.'

          Article continues
The England midfielder has been trying to negotiate a new contract for the past year, with the stumbling block believed to be his contract demands. He wants parity with Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack, the top earners at Chelsea, who are thought to earn £130,000 a week. The 29-year-old has been offered £110,000, around £20,000 more than his current deal, which has two years remaining.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I'm convince he will be going to Man City. Together with Sven, Owen and Heskey.

I'd be surprised if he leaves Chelsea. It all looks to me like brinkmanship in a salary negotiation.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

                Lampard rejects new Chelsea deal

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has turned down the offer of a new contract, BBC Sport understands.

It follows News of the World claims the Blues were willing to make him the top earner at Stamford Bridge.

The newspaper says the deal would have eclipsed the £121,000 a week given to Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack.

England midfielder Lampard, 29, has two years left on his current contract and said last week he was content to see out that period of time at the club.

"They don't have to offer me anything so I'll just carry on," he stated.

However, Lampard added last month that he would have liked the club to have offered any such new deal in early June.

"In an ideal world, it would have happened three weeks ago but it is not an ideal world," said the Blues star.

"It feels strange. It is something I am trying to keep my mind off. You get on with it. I am not surprised by it because nothing surprises you in football."

Under Fifa rules, Lampard can buy out the remainder of his contract but it was reported in February that he was unlikely to take that course of action.

The £15m-rated player has been linked to Barcelona and Juventus, who are now managed by former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri.

Lampard enjoyed his most prolific season in front of goal for the Blues in the 2006-2007 campaign, scoring 21 times.

but they offered him more and he still rejected it. He has been tapped up by Sven for sure

That's got to bruise the ego a bit.
What have I learned, Mr Mackay? Three things. One - bide your time. Two - keep your nose clean. And three - don't let the *******s grind you down

Unless he's had a falling out with Mourinho or someone else senior at Stamford Bridge I can't see why he would go to Man City. In fact, even if he has, I can't see why he would go to Man City.

The stunt his agent did with the Spanish language videos was such a pisspoor bargaining ploy. He's either trying to get as much money out of Chelsea as possible or he's setting up the fans for his leaving. Of course, they're not mutually exclusive at this point.

This is his last chance at getting a big, fat contract being 29. I'd imagine he's playing hard ball with Chelsea.

I meant to ask, are you guessing or are you claiming a ?

I bet Sven would love to sign Lampard. I just can't see why Lampard would go there.

Is he really holding out for more money? Because it doesn't look like there's more on the table.
Is he trying to engineer a move? Because it doesn't look like a big enough club is interested in him.
I must say I'm not sure I understand his motives for rejecting the deal.
If I was a Chav, I'd be well pissed off with him.
