    Real Madrid agree deal for Porto defender Pepe

    MADRID, July 10 (Reuters) - Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Porto centre-back Pepe on a five-year deal, the Spanish soccer champions said on Tuesday.

    The Brazilian-born 24-year-old is the second centre-back the club have signed in the close season with German international Christoph Metzelder due to be presented this week.

    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

        What next? Will Newcastle start buying defenders as well? Madrid have Cannavaro, Ramos, Metz and Pepe, and who else?

          I was just about to start a tirade aimed at Real telling them to go forth and multiply if they think they're signing Pepe Reina.

          Who'd have thought there would be more than one player with the nickname "Pepe"?

            Ramos will probably play in his best position, right wing back.
