Very gifted player, very slow and would be utter crap in the Premier League. Does he lose it on the big stages? I don't know, he was mom in both Copa Libatoras finals. I know Ortega's style of play was completely different, he was all about pace and dribbling ability, two things you definitely wouldn't associate with Riquelme. I just find them similar in they way they both have a remarkable habit of 'ghosting' into good positions with their opposite number nowhere to be seen - an uncanny knack for finding space.

I'm inclined to say that picking Veron and Riquelme in the same team for a final is one of the worst managerial decisions I've seen in a while.
