Yeah he's got a lot of potential, a born winner. However, Boro won't sell and he'll never fulfill his potential unless he's smart enough to see out his contract.
rnm is funny, funny like funny haha.

    Goals 2006/7 (CS, PL, CL)
1: Agger, Bellamy, Fowler, Alonso, Garcia

Reo-Coker's better I reckon. We should go for him next summer when Zenden's contract is up.

True, I think we'd have more chance of getting him too. Gibson would never sell Cattermole to us.

              Good call that mate.
Last season - NRC was the stand out player on the pitch at Anfield for me. I said it at the time and got ripped for it !! Now though - people are recognising that he's a very decent player indeed. I reckon he'd be perfect for Man Utd and he'll end up there. Just a hunch though

I don't see why it is bollocks. He fought to get money for his club because we broke the rules - If anotherteam poached one of our players we would be up in arms.

Any particular reason for your Boro hatred?

none other than the reasons stated.
What did we do wrong by the way? they were stupid enough to write the 5 million get out clause in his contract, we just met the conditions of said buy out clause

I'm sure it goes on all the time but we talked to the agent before making a bid. He gave us information about the contract. PL league rules state that we needed to have permission to talk to the agent. We bid the exact release clause value - which we could only have known via talking to the agent without their permission, so Gibson complained.

I don't think what we did was nice, but like I said I suspect similar things happen with many transfers. We were just stupid enough to allow Middlesborough to know what we did. I have no problem with a Chairman defending his teams interests and i don't think he did anything malicious.

still dont see what we done wrong to be honest. If boro are daft enough to put a release cluse in, they cant start whingeing when someone meets the clause value. Of course the agent let us know, its there job to do so. Ive no doubt he let a lot of clubs know. But, unfortunately, the bag of ****e decided to join us

Reo-Coker would be a good shout, but he certainly wouldn't be cheap (unless he has one of those brilliant clauses in his contract!)

Skillful, level-headed, fast, good tackler. He's a very good player and probably should be in the England squad.

Didn't Bellamy have a similar buy out clause...we all knew about that too didn't we?

Apparently Reo-Coker does have one of those 'magic clauses' in his contract.

It stipulates that he is allowed to talk to any PL team that finished in the top 3 positions the previous year. Not sure if there's a value attached to it though.

Both Manure and Arsenal have been heavily linked with him this week but i'd doubt West Ham would sell to Arsenal except for silly money (finished 4th) and it may depend on how much is stipulated in this clause as to whether Manure come in for him......if they're willing to pay 17m for Hargreaves and 18m for Trezeguet then who knows!

IMO he's a very solid player but would cost way too much to be our 4th choice CM.

These clubs make me laugh when they moan about an escape clause being activated; isn't that the fecking idea of them? If a club is stupid enough to sign a player and then agree to the player or agent including said clause then they get exactly what they deserve.

Correct me if I'm wrong here - but I haven't heard of any LFC representatives being present when Ziege and Bellamy signed their contracts at Boro and Blackburn. So then, who actually leaked the details of the clauses in their contracts? It's either the player, the agent or the club. Period.

A buying club can activate a clause unwittingly but that's highly unlikely. The probable cause of the leak is the agent involved; it makes sense. So if any blame has to be apportioned then it's in the direction of the agent - not the club activating the clause.
