    Valencia after Cheyrou?

First of all he's captain and now Valencia are after him - have I slipped into a parallel universe?

Yep, I'm probably gonna make myself look a **** but he's a really good player. Lots of skill, great technique and a very good passer with good vision. On the flipside, he's got no heart, no pace, apparently no desire once he's been booted and, while he was with us, no confidence whatsoever.

I made a dick out of myself about him (ALT being the other one) - saw him against Lazio when he was magnificent and nearly creamed my britches. Then, in our first home league game, he won a penalty after coming on sub by bamboozling Wayne Bridge with a lovely Cruyff turn inside the box.

      And then it went downhill.

Good player, I'd love to see him do well at a big club.

I too was at that game Shags and based on that performance I went and bought my new black and silver away top with Cheyrou 28 emblazened on it!

        Oh how I regretted that!

Oh dear. My Manc & Bitter mates never cease to remind me of some of the grand statements I made at the time about Cheyrou (and, even more so, Le Tallec).

i've said it for a few years now, that i think he would have come good for us under benitez, he had great vision and passing ability and read the game very well, he had no confidence at all. it was the same thing that happened to igor, great talents got ****ed under houlier...

The lad ran rings around ManU's midfield ( Keane and Scholes) the year before in the Champions League.I think he scored around 15 goals in the league that year. The lad defo has the technique and the skill. If he had stayed in France he would have definitely made it to the squad for the last world cup.

the lad is talented no doubt but the Prem was a step too high for him. Valencia might get a good deal here. La Liga is a bit slower style wise so he might have a bit more time on the ball to create. Good luck to him, it never worked out for him with us.

I remember him having a purple patch of about 3 games against the likes of the Chavs and the Barcodes and scoring winning headers.
The rest of the time I think he was fairly anonymous for LFC.

I remember sitting with my mates and watching Liverpool Chelsea game.Once the line up was announced I slagged of houllier like hell. Imagine my amazement when Heskey and Cheyrou did some lovely interchanges in the middle of the field and scored the goal to get our first victory at Stamford bridge in like 15 years.
Ate a lot of humble pie that night.
