Players you most begrudge getting a football wage...
In light of the masses of money in top flight football I honestly don't begrudge the players getting a good slice of what the help to maintain. Therefore if a club makes enough money to afford a £120k a week payment then the players should get it, rather that than people like Freddie Shepard.
That said i object to things like Diouf taking legal aid for his assault charge and non proportianality in law, a £60 speeding fine won't deter a footballer from speeding where as if instead they all had their nuts cut off that might.

If footballers were paid less would that not mean ticket prices, merchandise maybe even TV subscription would be cheaper?
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."
No. What are you suggesting we should all be on nurse's wages? Or cap them at 150k
You skipped your economics classes didn't you?
It's about supply and demand. Liverpool (for instance) can demand a certain price from match tickets and merchandising because people are prepared to pay it. There's a demand.
Essentially it is the players that put on the show, ergo their agents are asking that their player's are suitably recompensed. Much in the same way a film star puts bums in seats, a footballer does as well.
Let's not forget not everyone can play football, it's a talent, and usually a person with a great talent in a sport where the demand and following is massive gets well paid.
Down with communism.

i agree that its all relative to the industry, but do players like lucas neill really get more people in at west ham? he's on ridiculous money there but i doubt their fans are queuing up to get his name on their shirts

Of course not, but it wider than that i.e. player position, bosman rulings, last year of contracts... fill in the balnks yourself.
