    Van der Vaart on the way to Real

    Real Madrid in talks for Hamburg's Van der Vaart

    Real Madrid have moved to open negotiations for Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.

    AS says Real had representatives in Holland yesterday for talks with Van der Vaart's agents, including Soren Lerby, who said: "Right now I cannot say anything on the subject. What must happen, will happen."

    Real sports chief Pedja Mijatovic was in Holland yesterday to close the signing of Feyenoord wing-back Royston Drenthe and maintained constant contact with his intermediary over the Van der Vaart discussions. Real are turning to the Dutchman after being knocked back by Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack this week.

    Earlier this summer, Van der Vaart said: "It would not be honest if I said that I am going to fulfill my contract (until 2011) in Hamburg. I want to play in the Champions League and win titles, and Madrid is a great club.

    "I will continue with my present club unless Real Madrid calls me. It is impossible to say no to Madrid."
    Just believe and you never know what will happen.

    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

    How many players are they going to buy. It's a waste of time and money really because Schuster will be gone before next season anyway, and then the rebuilding of the team will start again.

            Very surprised with this if it goes through................

            Far to many dutch players will be there if they get all of who they are linked with them.............they had a problem with all the brazilians in there squad the past couple of seasons which lead to unrest in the camp

              Defo this story is to put pressure upon Robben to make up his mind about moving.
              Once again, Real have a golden opportunity to sort themselves out and really build a great first team and they look like making a mess of it.

                What about the fact they are signing Derenthe from Geyenoord, doesnt he play the same position.

                  They are also very interested in Sneijder.
                  Just believe and you never know what will happen.

                  According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                    Now he is a top top player. Just a shame we have the best central midfield in thw world
