    On the topic of hatred......

Who do you hate more? Manure, or the S*n....

Not sure I've ever heard these 2 compared before, but the feelings run deep on both sides.

So who is it? And you can't say both equally.

    I hate the SCUM more.

I boycott that paper out of respect for the families of the 96 but I wouldn't buy it anyway. As a tabloid newspaper it will have very little credibility in terms of news and I always saw it as a typical London-biased, Tory loving, appealing to the lowest common denominator waste of ink. But I don't have a great deal of hatred towards it. Whereas the SCUM are my nemesis.

I don't hate Manchester United - it's only football. I'm not saying I like them.

My dislike of The S*n is far more intense - the lies they told in '89 and failure to address it properly since, the way it is used to promote the interests of its right-wing proprietor and its poisonous effect on political and cultural life in this country - well, if it's not loathing I feel it's pretty damned close to it.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Pretty easy choice. There will always be a level of hatred directed at the scum but a reasonably big portion of that will always be recognised by me as being down to just incredibly intense rivalry. The S*n on the other hand is a 'newspaper' that even Hillsborough aside, has sought to distort the truth for sensationalisms sake, shown complete disregard for the idea of journalistic integrity, and been feeding the nation absolute crap for decades.

There is absolutely no contest. Forget football rivalry and some clubs having values that might be seen as the polar opposite to our own - the way The S*n goes about things has a very real and damaging impact on this country in terms of both the way it deliberately misrepresents its subjects, as well as misinforms and dumbs down its readers. Murdoch has a lot to answer for.

I agree and even if the events of 89 didn't happen I'd still despise the S*n

Based on moral issues, I hate the s*n more. Based on everything else I hate United more than anything with the s*n not so far behind

I'm very surprised how many people have voted for the Scum. If Bobby Charlton wanted to buy me a pint I'd let him, then mercilessly rip the piss out of his club. If a S*n journalist offered to buy me a pint I'd be far more inclined to tell them to **** off and die.
