He was a great player but we really don't know if he would have been a success in Europe. That is one example that shows that you can be a great player even if you don't play in Europe.
how on earth does this add up to the best player in the world??????????

and btw 7 goals in 26 starts is dominating the premiership?

It took time for Tevez to settle, but to be fair to the lad, once he settled in England he was dynamite.

It may take time for Torres and Babel to settle and that is why we need to be patient.

so if torres or babel score 7 goals this year they will be the best?

Well if they score 7 out of 10 games, be man of the match for the last 15 games and virtually win the Championship on their own, probably yes.

He played on the wing in more than half of that games. How on earth anyone can even think to play Tevez on the wing is

Even more than some of Houlliers lineups. It's almost like you start to think that the manager want to make a joke of himself.

West Ham stayed up only because of two players Green was fantastic in goal and Tevez dominated upfront, not because they played any better than earlier in the season. They started to play Tevez as a centre forward and that changed everything.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

To be fair when I saw Tevez early in the season he wasn't so much left wing as a left sided forward - in a similar position that Rooney has been given at United in the past, and usually under-performed in. The difference was that Bobby Zamora is frankly no Cristiano Ronaldo and the rest of the West Ham attack/midfield were terrible.

I also think that while Tevez was definitely the catalyst for the West Ham revival their midfield started looking less completely useless towards the end of the season.

I think though that it is fair to say that Tevez performances marked him out as a genuinely outstanding talent. No sure he can say he is the best forward in the world but he certainly is in an elite group of players capable of claiming that title in the future.
