    Best new player from opening days matches

    I was wondering who your most impressive new player of the opening games was?

    I mean players who have joined from overseas or lower leagues.

    My pick was Elano at Man City. Played like Kaka! Love to see him getting stuck in on a crap day in the Carling Cup!!

    Bingo...Elano looked quality....even if it was only against West Ham.

    Lets see him against the big boys for an entire season before we pass judgement though

      Ive seen Elano before...he is going to be a great purchase for City.

      Corluka looked very tidy also, as did Geovanni when he came on.

            Elano oozed class (still upstaged by the imperious Micah Richards), Malouda played well, great header from Santa Cruz, Chopra took his goal well and Nani was shiiiiiiite!

                          I said that I knew that Sven and Grip knows what they are doing. Grip is one of the best out there when it comes down to scouting the market.

                          A top six place for City is very possible.

                          Elano is a class signing.
                          Just believe and you never know what will happen.

                          According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                              I think there was only you and me on this forum who said Sven was a good appointment and would do a good job. You have to despair at some of the crap spouted about him. It's like all this ****e about him "buying players on the strength of videos" - do these people think Sven's never seen or heard of these players before? FFS.

                              He's a good manager and he'll prove it all over again at City.
