I am looking forward to Man City vs Manure next Sunday! I reckon it will be a great game (as well as Pool vs Chavs of course!)

I hope we can prize Micah Richards away at some point as he does look class.

He's a good manager and he'll prove it all over again at City.
The Sven thing is going to be very interesting this season. I wasn't one of the people slating I'm of the opinion that he is a very good manager in a league format. However I was and still am reserving judgment on how well Man City will do due to a lack of knowledge of many of the players he signed.

I only knew Petrov and Elano and although both looked good it was hard to know how they would adapt to the PL. So far so good for all of them and Bianchi who I had the most reservations about as he only ever seems to have had one good season (last year) has scored which bodes well for him. They also looked to have a good team shape. Still though we have only seen one game and I suspect that with all of the team turnover in the league the first month or so may be quite unpredictable.

He is imperious. Again, I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen people on here laughing at people who rate him by saying "oooh you've been playing too much Footy Manager".

        Get a grip.

He's outstanding, truly outstanding. I think City will beat United next week and what a fillip that'd be for us.

I'd love us to sign Micah Richards.

For me the most impressive new player this weekend was the new Arsenal RB Sagna (sp?). Babel looked very good when he came on.

The problem is that City is now owned by a very rich man and that means that the price for Richards will be much higher because they don't need to sell.

If the price was £15m before the takeover then it's probably close to £30m now, and I'm not kidding.

I also doubt that Richards want to leave. If he had wanted to do that then he would have done that already.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think Sven is a top quality manger and gets a lot of unfair stick or as he says, sticks. It's just in the big games for England his decison making (or lack of) cost him. Im sure around the rest of the world he's a very respected manager. I think its a very good appointment and Man city will challenge for the Uefa cup this seson.

BTW I agree with what others have been saying, Elano is class.

I've got to join in, in the Sven love-in too.

I too thought they would do well and had tipped them to be the 'surprise' package of the season, ok its only one game but old Svenis is a top club manager.

With regards to England, he is the best since Bobby Robson (so that makes him no 3 in the all time list (1) Ramsay (2) Robson (3) Sven), The players were as much at fault (as well as the media) as was Sven.
                We come not to play.

Terry Vegetables comes in 4th place (he was there for too little time, didn't have to qualify and played a tournament at home)

I didn't see Elano so no question for me that it was Paul Mac Shane. This lad is going to be a top top centre half. He was an absolute colossus at the back for Sunderland and he's also a massive goal threat from corners and free kicks. I have it in good faith that he is already loved by the Sunderland faithful.

Mention to Oliver Kapo of B'ham for his goal aswell. Pizarro looks good too and I hear Santa Cruz was tops when he came on.

                        Well said Nic lad.
I watched the full sunderland, spurs games on sturday and he was immense.
First game in the premiership for him(i think anyway) and he took to it like a duck to water, up against world class players in Keane and Berbatov, then later on the quick and lively Bent and Defoe.
He's such a rugged yet effectice centre half, he goes through players to win the ball, takes no prisoners, isn't the tallest but has a fantastic leap on em, is pretty quick, not to shabby on the ball either and is probably more than anything mighty strong in the tackle.
                        One to watch, most definitely.

Watched it with my two Spurs mates. Even they were saying how good he was, although Kaboul looked decent, seen him in a friendly in Dublin last month and he looked good then too. Back to McShane, I once saw him do that Ronaldinho thing.

                              HAHAHA that is awesome.

We were loving it watching him play, looks like a Ginger 'Beatle', with no eyebrows.

We even amended our fantasy league to have the "Paul McShane rule", where any player with no eyebrows gets double points.

Yep, even though it's laced with a heavy dose of Irish bias, Paul McShane was outstanding on his debut for the Mackems.
